What Does God Delight In?
Does this sound like a strange question? God
is your Creator/Judge and if you understand what He values you will
begin to understand His ways; which are not our ways, “For my thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”
A list of all that God delights in is too long for this small space.
Let’s focus on this statement from God: “But let him that glorieth glory
in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which
exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for
in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” God lists three things that
He loves to “exercise”—lovingkindness, judgment, & righteousness.
Lovingkindness meets people’s real needs, not what they imagine them to
be. Have you misunderstood God’s actions toward you; such as God sending
His Son to die for you? Do you truly understand your need? Judgment is
comparing self, others, things to a set of laws and principles. God
delights in doing this. If this seems strange, especially in our society
where people claim a right to do whatever they want, realize that God
made you and has set all the rules according to His own
perfect-ness—“holiness.” Righteousness is being right in thought and
action. Not just claiming to be right, but acting right in comparison to
the God’s own perfect-ness. Being right does not come about by following
public/majority opinion. How do the things you think are “cool” compare
with what God thinks? More questions have been asked than answered. I
