Thermodynamics

Evolution vs. The Bible and Real Science

1st Law of Thermodynamics

“Energy in a system cannot be created or destroyed.”

2nd Law of Thermodynamics

“In a system, the amount of disorder, or entropy, must increase and the amount of useful energy must decrease.”1

Evolutionary theory is built on the idea that the universe is getting better, more orderly. “Evolutionists assume that nonliving carbon atoms, hydrogen atoms, nitrogen atoms, etc., as they ‘fluttered down’ through the ages since the beginning of time, have slowly ordered and organized themselves into more complex, more energy-rich, less chaotic forms.”2

The laws of thermodynamics are established scientific laws. Evolutionists would have you and I believe, contrary to science, that the universe started out in a mess and is continually getting better. This is equal to someone claiming the development of a dictionary from an explosion in a printing shop. What clear thinking person would ever believe that?

There are two conclusions that can be drawn from the laws of thermodynamics. The first conclusion is that the universe had to have a beginning. “If the entire universe is an isolated system, then, according to the Second Law of Thermodynamics, the energy is the universe that is available for useful work has always been decreasing. However, as one goes back in time, the amount of energy available for useful work would eventually exceed the total energy in the universe that, according to the First Law of Thermodynamics, remains constant. This is an impossible condition.”3 So why would I believe evolution to be fact when it contradicts known laws of science? I wouldn't!

The second conclusion is that the universe started out in greater order than it is now. The second law of thermodynamics states that the universe is getting less orderly. Therefore, in time past, it was in a greater state of order then now. Obviously, at the beginning of the universe it was at its greatest state of order. Evolution is backwards and contrary to real science.

The attention grabber is that the laws of thermodynamics and the Bible are in complete agreement. Real science and the Bible are always in agreement. The Bible is clear about both the beginning of the universe and its high state of order.

The Bible states, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1) “For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day:” (Exodus 20:11) Clear thinking people believe the truth?

The Bible also speaks to the increasing disorder in the universe: “the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” (Romans 8:22) The universe is dying. How did death get into God’s creation? “By one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men.” (Romans 5:12) Things are messed-up because of sin—breaking God’s law (1John 3:4).

So what is the solution. Turn to HIM that was from before the beginning and has power over sin and death. “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:14-15)

The Bible says that in Jesus Christ there is “redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins;” and that “by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” (Col. 1:14-16)
